POTATO STUFFED BREAD PAKODA

Bread pakoda has a spicy and tangy taste that is sure to give a mouth-watering
experience.these pakodas are prepared with bread slices and coated with spicy gram flour mixture and then fried.Goes excellent if you serve with ketchup or any chutney of your choice!


PREPARATION TIME: 20 mins        COOKING TIME: 10-15 mins            SERVING: 4

 INGREDIENTS

For Stuffing:

Potatoes boiled & mashed 2 medium
Onion 1 medium
Green chili chopped 1
Green coriander chopped 2 tbs
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
Chat masala 1/2 tsp
Whole spices powder 1/4 tsp
Tomato ketchup as required
Bread slices 4 
Oil for frying

For Batter:

Gram flour (Baisan) 1 cup
Red chili powder 1 tsp 
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds (Ajwain) 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp or to taste
Baking soda 1/4 tsp
water as required

METHOD

For Batter:
  • In bowl, add gram flour,red chili powder,turmeric powder,carom seeds,salt,baking soda and water,mix well to make a batter.the batter should not be too thick or too thin. 
For Stuffing:
  • In bowl, add potatoes, ,green chili, onion, coriander, salt,red chilli powder, chat masala, and whole spices powder and mix well until all combined.
  • Cut the edges of bread slice.
  • Take a teaspoon of the tomato ketchup and apply it evenly on the bread slice. (optional)
  • Take filling and spread it on the bread evenly, and cover it with another bread slice and gently press it.
  • Cut the stuffed bread slice into triangular slices.
  • Prepare all bread slices (raw pakodas) in same way
  • Now dip the slices in gram batter and coat the slices evenly with the gram batter.
  • Take care not to keep the stuffed bread sandwich a long time in the batter as the bread tends to break.
  • Heat oil and deep fry on medium low flame until golden.
  • Bread pakoda is ready, Serve hot with tomato ketchup or any chutney of your choice!
