RICE KHEER (RICE PUDDING)

Kheer has always been a part of pakistani culinary.This traditional dessert recipe needs no introduction.There are many variations in making kheer like lauki ki kheer, carrot kheer, badam ki kheer, sabudana kheer and many more kheer recipes. Among all of them, rice kheer is the most popular in any occasion.


The creamy texture of the rice kheer looks nice and tempting. The rich taste of this kheer is extremely delicious.Here’s how you can prepare this delicious kheer recipe by following a few simple steps and impress your guest and they absolutely love its milky taste.

PREPARATION TIME: 20 mins        COOKING TIME: 45-50 mins            SERVING: 6-8

 INGREDIENTS

Milk 1.5 lire
Basmati rice 1/2 cup (Soaked for 1 hour)
Sugar 1/2 cup 
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Almonds Blanched & chopped 3 tbsp
Pistachio chopped 3 tbsp
Saffron  10 to 12 threads
Kewra water 1/2 tsp

METHOD


  • In pot,add milk and bring it to boil,
  • Add the rice, and cook on medium heat, then add cardamom powder and cook until the rice is fully cooked and beginning to break down and become mushy.
  • Now add the sugar and mix it well.
  • Add almond, pistachio, and saffron. Continue to cook.
  • In the end,add kewra water and cook until the kheer is thick, but still has a runny consistency as the kheer will thicken upon cooling.
  • take out in an earthen pot, garnish with pistachio sliced, and Saffron threads.
  • Your delicious Kheer now ready to serve.
  • You can keep this in the fridge covered for up to 3 days.
