BADAM KA SHARBAT (ALMOND DRINK)
Sharbat’s has been used in Pakistan since traditional times. As kids and even now, roohafza, rose and mint sharbat’s are the favorites as summer drinks. Right now it is also Ramadan time and iftar in the evening needs a perfect beverage to go with the food. So why not make healthy Badam Ka Sharbat? Badam or almonds are rich in proteins and carbohydrates, you can easily make a sharbat and store it in the refrigerator for a month. This sharbat can be used with water or milk to make a refreshing drink anytime you want.
PREPARATION TIME: 10 mins COOKING TIME:15 mins
INGREDIENTS
Almonds 200 gm (soaked overnight & peeled)
Water ½ Cup
Sugar 750 gm
Water 1 liter
Cardamom powder 1 tsp
Water or Milk 1 Cup
Ice cubes as required
Almond syrup 3 tbsp or to taste

METHOD
- In grinder, add almonds, water and grind to make a paste & set aside.
- In wok, add sugar and water, mix well until sugar is dissolved and continue cook until it stands to one sugar syrup strand.
- Now add grinded almond paste, mix well and cook on medium low flame for 5 minutes.
- Add cardamom powder, mix well and bring it to boil and cook for 4-5 minute.
- Let it cool down.fill the sharbat in an air tight bottle..
- Can be stored in refrigerator for up to a month.
For Serving
- To make the beverage, add 4 tbsp of badam ka sharbat in the glass.
- Add one glass water or milk, ice cubes and mix well and serve .
