BEEF HALEEM
Haleem is a traditional Pakistani dish made with lentils, spices, wheat and meat. Haleem is garnished and served with crispy fried onions, green chili, coriander leaves, lemon wedges and eaten with naans and also enjoyed without naans.

INGREDIENTS
Beef boneless 500 gm
Black lentil (Maash dhal) 1/4 cup
Pink lentil (Masoor dhal) 1/4 cup
Green lentil (Moong dhal) 1/4 cup
Gram lentil (Chena dhal) 1/2 cup
Crushed wheat grain (daliya) 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder 2 tea spoons (divided)
Oil 1 cup
Onion 2 medium (thinly sliced)
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
Whole spices 1 tbsp
Green chilies 8 (chopped)
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Coriander powder 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Fried onion
Green chilies
Ginger (Julian)
Lemon
Fresh Coriander
METHOD
- Soak wheat grain in a separate bowl for overnight and boil with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 2 glass water until tender and mushy.
- Soak all lentils in a bowl for 2 hours and boil with 6-7 glass water and 1 tsp turmeric powder until tender and mushy.
- Heat oil in a deep pot and fry onion, Saute ginger, garlic paste and whole spices about 1 minutes then add meat and cook.
- Add red chili powder, remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, water and cook till tender. Add lentils & wheat mixture.
- Grind it in a mixer or grind manually, and cook on low flame for about 10-15 minutes until thick.
- Finally Garnish with julian ginger, chopped green chilies, fried onions, coriander and serve hot with lemon wedges and Naan.
