MASALA BHINDI (OKRA)
Bhindi is also known as Okra and lady finger, is a healthy vegetable. It is an outstanding dish because it is a green vegetable which is good for digestion too.Masala Bhindi (Okra) made with tomatoes, onion, cumin and simple spices are used to make a flavor..Try this simple recipe of masala Bhindi and serve it with warm Chapaties or Naan.
PREPARATION TIME: 15 mins COOKING TIME: 20 MINS SERVING: 4
Oil 1 tbs
Bhindi (Okra (ladies finger) 500 gm
Oil 2-3 tbs
Cumin 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Onion Sliced 2
Garlic Chopped 1 tbsp
Tomatoes Chopped 3
Salt 1 tsp or to taste
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Whole Green chilies 4
Mint leaves 2 tbsp
Fresh coriander 2 tbsp
METHOD
- In pan, add oil, okra and fry for 4-5 minutes and set aside.
- Heat oil in pan and temper it with cumin and mustard seeds.
- Add sliced onions just stir once.
- Add crushed garlic and cook for some seconds.
- Add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder,coriander powder, red chili powder and mix well until tomatoes are soft.
- Add stir fried okra and mix well.
- Add lemon juice, green chilies,mint leaves,green coriander and serve.
