INGREDIENTS
For marinade:
Chicken Bite size 500 gm
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Ginger & Garlic paste 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp or to taste
Soy sauce 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
White vinegar 1 tsp
Egg 1
Corn flour 1 & 1/2 tbsp
For Coating:
All-purpose flour 1 Cups
Corn flour 1/4 cup
Salt 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Oregano 1 tsp
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Chili flakes 1/2 tsp
Eggs 2 (beaten)
Oil for frying
METHOD
- Cut the boneless chicken into 1 inch measured pieces.
- In bowl,add chicken, egg,soy sauce,red chili powder, ginger & garlic paste, black pepper powder, salt, white vinegar, corn flour and mix well and marinate for 30 minutes.
- In bowl,add all-purpose flour,corn flour,black pepper powder, oregano, garlic powder, red chili powder and flakes, salt,mix well and set aside.
- Now take chicken piece,coat in flour mixture and dip in beaten eggs and then coat in flour mixture.Make sure that the chicken gets coated with flour all over. Put in a clean plate or bowl.
- Double coat the chicken by repeating the previous step (dip in egg again and then coat in flour).
- Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry chicken popcorn in batches on medium heat till the chicken is cooked through and lightly brown on the outside.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Crispy & yumm homemade chicken popcorn ready..!
- Serve warm with any favorite dipping sauces.
NOTE:
- it's important to fry the chicken in batches for two reasons. The first is so it's not overcrowded, which can increase the chances of your chicken sticking together. The second is that if there's a large amount of chicken plonked in the pan at once, it lowers the temperature of the oil. Because the chicken pieces are small, they don't take long to cook, meaning you don't want them sat in oil for longer than they have to be. If they soak up too much oil over a long period of time they won't be crispy.
