LAHORI FRIED FISH

This recipe is eaten all over Pakistan especially during the winter season and perfect treat for seafood fans. Follow the recipe as it is to get the perfect taste. Share your experience with us.

 PREPARATION TIME: 20 mins        COOKING TIME: 30 mins   SERVING: 4

INGREDIENTS

Fish fillets salted & washed 750 gm
Garlic cloves 5
Water 1/2 Cup
Lemon juice 1/4 Cup
Cumin seeds crushed 1 tbsp
Carom seeds 1 tsp
All spice powder 1/2 tsp
Red chili crushed 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds crushed 1 & 1/2 tbs
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1 tbsp 
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
All-purpose flour 1 Cup
Gram flour sifted 1 Cup
Water if required
Oil for frying


METHOD
  • On fish pieces, add sifted all-purpose flour & set aside for 10 minutes.
  • In a blender, add garlic, water and blend well.
  • In a bowl, add juice, garlic water, cumin seeds, carom seeds, allspice powder, red chili crushed, coriander seeds, salt, red seasoning, turmeric powder and blend well.
  • Add gram flour and mix well.
  • Add water if needed and mix well to make a thick batter.
  • Add fish fillets and coat well, cover and marinate for three hours.
  • In wok, heat oil and fry fish till golden brown.
  • Your tasty Lahori Fried Fish is now ready.
  • Enjoy it with Imli (Tamarind) sweet and sour chatni, Naan or Tandoori roti and praise the Lord for his blessings.
