PEANUT BRITTLE OR CHIKKI

A yummy Peanut brittle or chikki recipe made with Peanut and Jaggery. It is a super-healthy snack to gorge on in winters to keep your body warm.! So, do not wait and try this simple recipe for peanut chikki that you can easily make in your kitchen and impress your loved ones.


 PREPARATION TIME: 05 mins        COOKING TIME: 15-20 mins   SERVING: 3-4

INGREDIENTS

Peanuts 100 gm
Jaggery 150 gm
Ghee 1 tsp


METHOD
  • In frying pan, add peanuts and dry roast until aromatic (1-2 minutes) & 
  • take out in a bowl.
  • In a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee and let it melt.
  • Add jaggery and cook on low flame until it melts completely (15-20 minutes) & stir continuously.
  • To check the consistency of jaggery, drop little jaggery syrup to the bowl of water, it must become hard immediately, remove and break it. The jaggery piece must break to pieces without getting stringy. The broken pieces must be like candy and brittle not soft. This is the right consistency.
  • Add roasted peanuts and mix well.
  • Grease working surface or tray with oil then transfer peanuts mixture to the grease surface, quickly place a foil or a butter paper or parchment paper on the chikki. and roll the mixture with the help of rolling pin evenly.
  • Cut into pieces and cool down completely.
  • It can be store in an airtight jar.
