DRAGON CHICKEN

Dragon chicken is a delicious spicy Pakistani styled Chinese chicken recipe that is usually served as a Starter but you can serve with plain rice or Chinese Fried Rice..



PREPARATION TIME: 10 mins        COOKING TIME: 20 mins        SERVING:2

INGREDIENTS

For Chicken Marination:

Boneless chicken (julienne cut) 300 gm
Corn flour 1/4 cup
Egg white 1
White pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp 
Oil for frying

For Sauce:

Chili Oil 2 tbsp
Garlic chopped 2 tbsp
Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
Tomato ketchup 1/4 cup
Chicken stock 1/4 cup 
Chili powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Soy Sauce 1 tbs
Honey 2 tbsp
Green onions for garnish
Sesame Seeds for garnish

For chili oil:

Oil 1/2 cup
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Crushed red chili 1 tsp

METHOD
  • Marinate chicken with the marination ingredients for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan add marinated chicken, fry until crispy and golden brown,set aside. 
For Sauce:
  • In wok,add oil, garlic, ginger and sauté until golden.
  • Add chili powder, tomato ketchup,chicken stock, salt, soy sauce and cook until sauce thickens.
  • Add honey,fried chicken and mix well.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds, green onion and serve with plain rice or Chinese Fried Rice..
For chili oil:
  • Heat oil till smoking hot.
  • Remove from flame and allow to warm.
  • Mix in red chili powder and crushed red chili. Cover and leave overnight at room temperature.
  • Strain oil in a container and use according to requirement.
