SALTED YOGURT LASSI WITH CUMIN

This is the salted version of the lassi that’s popular in Pakistan. I have used ground toasted cumin, which not only heightens the taste, but also acts as a digestif after a heavy meal.



PREPARATION TIME: 10 mins        COOKING TIME: 0 mins            SERVING: 4

INGREDIENTS

whole milk 4 cups (975 g) 
plain yogurt 2 cups (500 ml) 
water 1 cup (125 g) 
crushed ice 1/2 cup
Salt 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds (toasted and ground) 1 tbsp
chopped fresh mint leaves 1/4 tsp
cumin seeds, toasted, for garnish

METHOD
  • In a blender, add the yogurt, water, ice, salt, cumin, and mint. 
  • Blend until frothy. Strain and into four glass and serve cold.
  • Garnished with the cumin seeds.
