  DAHI BARAY (DUMPLINGS YOGURT)

Dahi baray is one of the most popular snacks of Ramadan al Mubarak. There are several types of dahi baray such as meethi phulki, besan dahi baray recipe, mash ki daal dahi baray, masala baray and so on. All are very tasty but sweet baray is the best.so make a delicious sweet baray  at home. it has a perfect taste that no one can say it is homemade. serve cold in yogurt. 



PREPARATION TIME: 10 mins        COOKING TIME: 15 mins            SERVING: 4

 INGREDIENTS

Gram  flour 1 cup
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Baking soda 1 pinch
Salt 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Water as required                
Oil for frying

FOR YOGURT:

Yogurt 2 cups
Sugar  6 tbsp
Salt  ¼ tsp
Chat masala as required
Tamarind sauce as required

METHOD

  • In a bowel Combine gram flour, baking soda, red chilli, garlic paste, cumin seeds and salt, mix very well,  and gradually add water until a batter that is neither too thick nor watery is obtained cover and leave it for 30 minutes.
  • Then heat up oil in a wok and drop little balls into oil and fry on slow fire.
  • When they’re slightly brown remove in a tray and leave them to cool.
  • In another bowl add water with, ½ tsp salt, put in the fried balls, let them soak for 10 to 15 minutes.or until slightly soften, colour lighten and double in size.
  • To prepare the yogurt sauce, add salt, sugar and yogurt whisk well until smooth.
  • Take out the prepare balls from the bowl and squeeze out the water, arrange them on serving dish, and pour prepared yogurt and sprinkle chaat masala, and then  tamarind sauce.
