SPANISH FLAN/ CREME CARAMEL
Crème Caramel/ Spanish Flan/ Caramel Custard - an elegant and absolutely delicious dessert known all over the world. What not to love to layer of clear caramel sauce on top, vanilla flavor and creamy consistency. Best part is that Creme Caramel can be made in advance which makes it perfect for any gatherings.Try this super easy and delicious recipe for Spanish Flan/ Crème Caramel/ Caramel Custard or whatever you may call this dessert!
For the topping
Sugar 1/2 cup
Water 2 tbsp
For the custard
Eggs 3
Milk 2 cup
Sugar 1/4 cup
Vanilla essence 2 tsp
Corn flour 1/2 tsp (optional)
METHOD
- Heat the oven to 325°F/160°C.
- Heat the sugar and water in a saucepan until the liquid turns golden brown.Quickly, pour the caramel into a 7 inch (18 cm) cake pan covering the sides too.
- Empty the milk into a similar pot. include the vanilla essence into the milk. Warmth the milk yet don't bring to bubble, at that point put aside to infuse for few minutes.
- In a different bowl beat the eggs with the sugar. add the corn starch. Pour the milk over the egg mixture.
- Pour the custard carefully over the prepared pan and place the pan in a larger pan. Pour hot water into the bottom pan to come half-way up the sides. Bake until golden for about 45 minutes to 60 minutes.
- Cool completely. Then cover and refrigerate for at least a couple of hours. To serve turn out onto a plate.
