SELF-RISING FLOUR
SELF-RISING FLOUR
Self-rising flour can make baking cakes really easy for us. Specially if we are regularly baking something. Self-rising flour has the sufficient amount of rising agents in it and you don't have to worry about the perfect rising of the cakes. Make your own self-rising flour at home by following these instructions.
PREPARATION TIME: 5 min
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Baking powder 1 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
METHOD
- Stir or sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
Notes:
Storing Self-Rising Flour:
Self-rising flour has a slightly shorter shelf-life than regular flour because being exposed to the flour, salt, and air, the baking powder begins to lose its effectiveness. Mix up self-rising flour in smaller batches and store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Whether I buy self-rising flour or make my own, I always label the jar with the date it was made or purchased, and plan to use it within a year.
